Since joining INTECH Risk Management in 2017, Tyler Townsend has been promoted to director of risk and insurance services and has helped the department achieve 15% in revenue growth. Responsible for overseeing and driving all business development strategies for the department, Townsend also serves as the insurance and risk consultant to “some of the most important and largest REITs in Canada and [was the] consultant for over $1.5 billion of placed construction and development in 2018.”
Along with his team, Townsend makes risk management accessible to small and medium-sized organizations that typically don’t have the resources to employ a full-time risk manager. This helps advance the profession by promoting and demonstrating the value of effective risk management to the business community. In recognition of their commitment to and passion for their trade, Townsend and his team received the Excellence in Risk Management Award at the 2017 Insurance Business Canada Awards.
