Saskatchewan Government Insurance, commonly known as SGI, was created in 1945 in Saskatchewan as a publicly-owned insurance company, with a mandate to provide comprehensive, affordable insurance protection to its citizens.
From those humble prairie roots, the company has grown to offer a full line of property and casualty insurance products through SGI CANADA in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
From the very beginning, SGI has been been honoured to partner with insurance brokers to sell its products and serve customers. The company celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2020, and although SGI has changed a lot over the years, what hasn’t changed is the company's commitment to providing an exceptional partner and customer experience.
SGI employs over 2,000 people and partners with over 400 insurance brokerages in more than 1,300 locations across Canada.
Regina, Saskatchewan is home to SGI’s corporate head office. SGI has multiple locations across Saskatchewan, as well as offices in Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Toronto.
