Based in Vancouver, Mike is responsible for business development, fostering relationships, and providing insurance solutions to commercial clientele. As Management Liability Practice Leader for BC, Mike educates and helps organizations navigate the worlds of Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Liability, Cyber and Crime insurance. Mike supports a variety of industries including Financial Institutions, Life Sciences, Technology, Manufacturing, Natural Resources and Emerging Industries. Utilizing Gallagher’s resources and partnering with local, Canada wide and international teams, Mike helps Canadian businesses craft unique insurance programs around the globe.
Mike began his insurance career in 2012 at one of Canada’s leading specialty insurance companies, The Guarantee Company of North America. Over the 7+ years with GCNA, he became a leader within the organization and specialized in underwriting D&O, EPL, Crime and Cyber insurance. During this time, he became fluent in Management Liability IPO/RTO solutions and collaborated with hundreds of businesses transitioning from private enterprise to being publicly traded. In 2019, Mike was included within Insurance Business Canada as one of the industry’s Top 35 Under 35 Young Guns.
In 2019, Mike transitioned to the brokerage side with the opportunity to support Gallagher’s rollout in British Columbia. Joining the Jones Brown team post acquisition, Mike supports existing clients and welcomes new business partners into the practice. Mike is a local representative for Gallagher’s global Management Liability, Cyber-Risk, Financial Institution and Life Sciences practices.
Mike holds a Bachelors of Business Administration – Accounting stream and an Associates of Marketing – Entrepreneurship stream. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Mike held accounting roles within the health science, law and environmental services industries. The operational insights gained and Mike’s financial literacy are evident in his practice.
