Wawanesa Insurance has obtained eDocs certification from the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) after implementing updated eDocs standards.

The achievement confirms Wawanesa’s ability to send eDocs with updated codes and descriptions directly to broker management S=systems (BMS), streamlining the process for brokers.

The certification ensures that Wawanesa’s brokers can now receive clearly labeled eDocs within their BMS without needing to open each document to identify its content. This advancement is expected to save brokers time and enhance workflow efficiency, according to CSIO.

“We understand how busy brokers are, which is why, as part of our commitment to being a trusted partner, Wawanesa continues to invest in technological solutions designed to make their lives easier,” said Cam Muckosky (pictured), vice president, digital delivery at Wawanesa. “We’re proud to work with CSIO to drive industry-wide alignment around eDocs, helping to create more consistency and efficiency for brokers.”

Catherine Smola, president and chief executive of CSIO, highlighted the importance of the certification.

“Wawanesa’s certification provides brokers with an efficient operational process for handling eDocs,” Smola said. “Their achievement marks an important step in removing obstacles to broker productivity, allowing more time to deliver exceptional customer service.”

Following Wawanesa’s success, other CSIO members are also in the process of completing their eDocs certification. Insurers interested in achieving certification can access CSIO’s eDocs business requirements and certification document to begin the process, CSIO said.

Last year, Wawanesa also received CSIO’s Application Programming Interface (API) Security Standards Certification, which confirmed its adherence to CSIO’s high standards for data confidentiality and API endpoint security.

Through that certification, Wawanesa validated that its API endpoints meet all necessary security protocols, which enables brokers to trust in the safety of their data during API interactions.
