The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has granted certification to six more insurance carriers.

Ayr Farmers Mutual, Dumfries Mutual, Edge Mutual, Germania Mutual, Howick Mutual and Lambton Mutual were all given CSIO Certificates of Compliance, which recognizes carriers that use standardized CSIO coverage codes instead of custom codes (aka Z-Codes) in their data download to brokers.

“I am very proud that so many of our CAMIC members have achieved Certification of Compliance,” said Canadian Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (CAMIC) president Normand Lafreniere. “Our member companies have been working toward the goal of eliminating Z-Codes for a long time, and we are pleased to be able to improve the workflow for our trading partners, ultimately providing a better experience for our members (customers).”

A release noted that Z-Codes are not recognized by broker management systems (BMS) vendors; this can be inconvenient for both vendors and their broker partners.
