A new, Indian-developed app will allow Canadian consumers to settle their insurance payments, among other expenses, from anywhere.
Paytm – one of India’s largest mobile payments and commerce companies – launched its bill payments service yesterday, marking its entry into the Canadian market. The announcement of the launch was jointly made by Paytm.

The app will enable users to pay for their cellular, cable, internet, and utility bills. Insurance payments and property taxes can also be settled through the app, which is available for both Android and iOS phones.

Over the last two years, Paytm has extended its operations considerably in Canada. Its operations in Toronto Canada, dubbed Paytm Labs, serves as the research and development division of the company.
“We are excited to announce that, starting today, consumers in Canada will be able to access the seamless Paytm experience that is already well-known in India for its convenience,” Paytm Labs CEO Harinder Takhar said of the launch. “We are confident that Canada will be a very successful market for us.”
