L’Unique General Insurance has become the first insurer to receive Commercial Lines (CL) Data Standards Certification for the real estate segment from the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO).

By implementing real-time quoting, L’Unique enables commercial policy data to seamlessly flow onto broker management systems (BMS). This allows the delivery of quotes within seconds instead of days.
L’Unique’s integration of CSIO’s CL Data Standards for real estate risks eliminates manual data entry and multiple platform log-ins while reducing reliance on email or phone requests for quotes.
Catherine Smola, president and chief executive of CSIO, praised L’Unique for its leadership in adopting CL Data Standards.

Insurers and BMS vendors interested in achieving certification can access the CL Data Standards business requirements and certification document for detailed programming guidelines.
CSIO also provides a CL Validator tool to ensure XML files comply with the standards during implementation. Brokers can visit CSIO’s website to explore the codes covered under CL Data Standards.
