Aviva Canada is collaborating with OneEleven to launch a program that would help up-and-coming insurtechs deliver their innovative insurance solutions.
Through the so-called InsurTech Growth Program,
Aviva Canada will serve as a mentor to tech start-ups that have services or solutions with insurance industry applications. Six start-ups and their projects will be chosen for the program.
“There are a number of fast-growing insurtech start-ups in Toronto,” said Aviva Canada head of digital and innovation Ryan Spinner. “Insurance is a massive industry that touches almost all Canadians and it’s still challenged with legacy processes. We think it’s time for disruption and we look forward to working with these start-ups to make that happen.”
“Not only will this program help encourage innovation in the insurance industry, but it will also give promising start-ups the resources and networks that they need to build their business and scale and grow their operations,” added OneEleven CEO Bilal Khan. “It’s a win-win for all parties involved and we can’t wait to see what disruptive solutions come out of the program.”
Aside from mentoring sessions with Aviva executives, participants in the program will receive support and feedback from OneEleven. Participants will also be given an opportunity to connect with the managing director of Aviva Ventures if their project shows promise.
Applications for the InsurTech Growth Program close early next month, March 04, 2018.
