APOLLO Insurance will be offering digital insurance products to self-employed Canadians through a new partnership with the independent worker platform Livelii.
Livelii is a rewards-based platform for independent workers, allowing them to easily access products and services; it currently serves more than 800 members. The partnership with APOLLO will allow Livelii to offer business insurance offerings on the latter’s platform.
“Offering custom, accessible insurance coverage to Canadians is extremely important to us at APOLLO,” said APOLLO director of business development Glen Bowie. “By partnering with a company like Livelii, our team is able to support entrepreneurs who may not have otherwise found comprehensive policies to support the needs of their small businesses.”
“We asked the Livelii community what they wanted to see on our Member Perks Platform, and business insurance came up as one of the top requested products,” said Livelii product manager partner Tobi Babalola. “APOLLO not only helps us meet the needs of our community members, but also complements our health, dental, and life insurance products, enabling us to continue to build a sustainable, inclusive platform for the independent workforce of Canada.”
Livelii had previously partnered with Manulife in 2020 to offer group health, dental, and life insurance coverage to self-employed Canadians on the independent worker platform. A release said that over 130 individual business owners on the Livelii platform are benefitting from health and dental insurance.
Also this week, APOLLO added coverage for trades and contractors to its digital insurance catalogue. The new trades and contractors insurance includes commercial liability, with up to $5 million limits for companies generating $3 million or less in Canadian revenue. The policy also features a tools and equipment floater of up to $150,000 as well as tenant legal liability of up to $500,000.
