Western Financial Group has entered into a partnership with the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM), becoming a preferred provider of business insurance and employee benefits for members across the country.
The agreement gives CAM members access to insurance packages tailored to the operational needs of moving companies and storage facilities.
“Our goal is to ensure that CAM members have access to comprehensive and reliable insurance solutions,” said Blake Smiley, manager of business development at Western. “With our omni-channel structure, CAM members can reach us when and where it’s convenient for them.”
Business insurance in Canada continues to evolve amid rising operational risks, liability exposures, and changing regulations, particularly in sectors that rely on transportation, warehousing, and seasonal labour. For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), customized coverage is becoming increasingly important, as traditional policies may not adequately address the nuances of industries like moving and storage. Coverage types often include commercial auto, property, general liability, cargo, and cyber insurance, all of which are relevant to CAM members.
At the same time, employee benefits have become a central focus for companies aiming to attract and retain skilled workers. With heightened competition in the labour market, businesses are looking for flexible group benefits packages that can include extended health coverage, mental health support, and retirement planning. Insurers and brokers have responded with scalable solutions designed for both small firms and multi-location operations.
The CAM partnership also aligns with Western’s broader strategic roadmap, which includes targeted growth and service expansion through 2025. The company, which began as a single brokerage in High River, Alberta, now operates coast to coast.
Separately, the Western Financial Group Communities Foundation is marking the 20th anniversary of its national charity walk, scheduled to take place from May 19 to 24. The event will bring together Western employees, partners, and local residents in over 150 communities nationwide to promote safe environments to live, work, and play.
