Lockton Re has expanded its team with the appointments of Edward Tyler (pictured above left) and Jemima Hopper (pictured above right), reinforcing its retrocession, property specialty, and cyber practices amid growing demand in these sectors.
Tyler joins Lockton Re’s retrocession and property specialty team as a senior broker, bringing extensive experience in retrocession, London Market property, and global composite placements.
Tyler previously held roles at Gallagher Re, where he served as divisional director for non-marine retrocession, and at Willis Re, where he was a broker for non-marine retrocession across European markets. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the University of Exeter.
Matt Foreman, head of retrocession and property specialty at Lockton Re, said that Tyler’s expertise and client-focused approach were valuable assets for the team.
“He shares the Lockton Re client centric ethos and enthusiasm to achieve more for our clients and has arrived at a great time to boost our credentials ahead of another very busy renewal season,” Foreman said.
Hopper has joined Lockton Re as a cyber reinsurance broker. Hopper, an ACII-qualified professional, brings nearly four years of cyber reinsurance experience, with a background in Treaty, MGA, and retro markets.
Previously, she worked with Guy Carpenter as an assistant vice president in cyber reinsurance and held reinsurance brokerage roles for property and cyber lines. Hopper holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Kent.
Oliver Brew, Lockton Re’s cyber practice leader in London, highlighted the increasing demand for cyber expertise, noting that cyber is one of the fastest-growing commercial insurance lines.
“We are delighted to welcome Jemima to the Cyber team as we continue to see a growing demand from clients for our Cyber expertise across the globe. Lockton Re is focused on ensuring we have the right people, expertise and technology in place for our clients and markets so they can benefit from a fully rounded perspective,” Brew said.
