The latest Insurance Business poll asked if 2014 would be the year that telematics catches fire in Canada – and there was absolutely no question in brokers' minds where the future of auto insurance is headed.
By a margin of almost two to one, respondents agreed that telematics would catch on across the nation in 2014.
One indication of the success that telematics has already found in Quebec is the Mobiliz program, placing Industrial Alliance up for an
award.
“Telematics will be spreading out in Canada at a fast pace,” says Jean Lapointe vice-president for Mobiliz. “Even the broker associations have inked some deals with telematics providers. It’s coming; 2014 will be the year of Telematics in Canada.”
Quebec has been the proving ground for telematics, through Industrial Alliance’s Mobiliz and
Desjardins Insurance’s Ajusto product.
