In an industry that is often criticized for not embracing new technologies quickly, one insurer has taken a giant online leap through a new partnership with Canada Post.
Aviva Canada has announced that
epost is now available to its customers, providing the option to receive policy documents online.
“By partnering with
epost, we have the ability to offer customers a safe, convenient and free way to receive their home and auto insurance policies online,” said Debora Hendrickson,
Aviva Canada’s Senior Vice President of Customer & Marketing. “As the role of technology continues to evolve in the insurance industry, we are making customer preference a priority. With Aviva, you can now choose how you want to receive your policy documents.”
Hendrickson points out that it is also a step in the right direction for Aviva, as it reflects the company’s commitment to reducing carbon footprint and the goal of being a carbon-neutral insurer.
Receiving insurance policies online reduces clutter and keeps documents in a single, secure location, adds Hendrickson.
Canada Post uses an advanced encryption technology to ensure the security and privacy of anything sent through
epost. The service also gives convenient access to policy documents anytime, anywhere through your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Aviva Canada customers with home and/or auto policies can sign up for
epost, and policies underwritten by Aviva Insurance Company of Canada, Traders General Insurance Company, Scottish and York Insurance Co. Limited, S&Y Insurance Company, Pilot Insurance Company and Elite Insurance Company are included. Certain products for Leisure and Lifestyle are not included. Ovation, our personal insurance product designed to protect high value homes, cars and other valuable assets is also not included.
