Insurance fraud charges have been laid against two Albertan men following a fire at a small business in Calgary.
The two men – father and son – have been charged with arson and insurance fraud offences in connection to a blaze in September of last year at their own business after an eight-month investigation by the Calgary Police Service arson unit.
The business, an auto repair shop, suffered $500,000 in damage in the fire in the early morning house of September 6. Fire crews were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the adjacent businesses.
