A community hospital is three-quarters of the way towards reaching its $5 million goal – and one brokerage has been there from the start to help.
“Coburn Insurance is proud to be associated with Economical’s significant contribution towards the health and well-being of the people in our community,” said Jeff Coburn, principal at Coburn Insurance Brokers Ltd. “Having represented Economical for more than 100 years, we know firsthand the difference their community giving program makes in communities all across Canada.”
The Redevelopment of the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care at North Wellington Health Care–Louise Marshall Hospital is one step closer to reality thanks in part to a $12,000 donation by
Economical Insurance, one of Canada’s leading providers of home, auto and business insurance. The donation to Always Here for You Campaign of The Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (the Foundation) was made in association with Coburn Insurance Brokers Ltd. of Mount Forest.
“This is the second sizeable gift Economical has made in Mount Forest this year,” said Coburn. “In February, they donated $10,000 to Cancer Patient Services Corp. in order that local cancer patients receive assistance like facilitating transportation to cancer centres as far as Grand River Hospital in Kitchener and Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton.”
The Louise Marshall Hospital is a community hospital operating 14 inpatient beds serving the health care needs of approximately 15,000 people within the hospital's catchment area.
“At Economical, we appreciate the vital role Louise Marshall Hospital plays in the community and are pleased to support the Redevelopment campaign with funds to acquire two vital signs monitors,” said Robert Gow, Economical’s vice-president of sales and distribution for Ontario.
For Jane Ford, development officer for the Foundation, the financial help from both brokerage and insurer are welcome news.
“We are grateful to Economical Insurance for this generous gift that will enhance emergency care as well as outpatient services at the hospital in clinics, day surgery, oncology, and other areas,” said Jane Ford, development officer for the Foundation. “It is through donations like this that we will reach our campaign fundraising goal and see a new and fully-equipped Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care services at our hospital. This is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.”
