Western Communities Foundation has announced leadership changes following the retirement of Kenny Nicholls, its previous president and CEO and board chair.

Grant Ostir, chief executive officer of Western Financial Group, has been appointed foundation president. Nancy Green-Bolton, Western's chief operating officer, will assume the role of board chair. Jonathan Hoey, chief underwriting officer, will take on the position of secretary and treasurer.

"Western has a long-standing commitment to providing meaningful assistance to our people, our customers, partners and the communities in which we live and work," said Ostir. He highlighted the foundation's focus on creating opportunities for growth and positive impact across Canada.

Green-Bolton, a long-standing board member since 2017, brings extensive experience to her new role. She has been with Western Financial Group since 2007 and currently oversees all aspects of the company's operations.

"Over the years, I've seen first-hand the remarkable ways in which our people have given back to our communities," Green-Bolton commented. She emphasized the organization's commitment to community support.

Founded in 2001 by Western Financial Group, the Western Communities Foundation has granted over $9 million to local communities across Canada. The foundation focuses on community infrastructure grants, inspirational awards for high school students, and a matching grants program.

"Giving back isn't a corporate strategy for us, it's part of our DNA," said Michelle Mak, Communities Foundation director. The leadership changes are expected to further strengthen the foundation's community engagement efforts.

The new leadership team brings extensive experience in corporate strategy, operations, and community engagement.
