Property and casualty insurance brokerage BrokerLink has snapped up Hanbidge and Bowman Insurance in Owen Sound, Ontario.
Established in 1947, Hanbidge and Bowman Insurance specializes in home, auto, business, and farm insurance. Its addition to BrokerLink marks the wider group’s expansion in Owen Sound. Across Canada, Brokerlink is manned by 3,700 people in more than 200 branches.
“We extend a warm welcome to our new employees from Hanbidge and Bowman Insurance,” BrokerLink vice president of Ontario and digital distribution Lindsay Loughridge said when the swoop was announced.
“At BrokerLink, we’re here to help people, and we will continue providing excellent service to new and existing customers in the Owen Sound area, whether we meet in person, online, or over the phone.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hanbidge and Bowman Insurance president Dave McNeill said: “We pride ourselves on living in the community we serve and helping customers find the right insurance using our local expertise.
“BrokerLink is well-known for its knowledgeable team, and our customers and employees will benefit from its sizable network, specialized insurance offerings, and technology capabilities.”
