McDougall Insurance Brokers subsidiary McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers has snapped up Excalibur Insurance Group.
The swoop, financial terms of which were not disclosed, was described as a “huge step” for McFarlan Rowlands as it works to expand its presence in Western Ontario. The merger enhances McDougall Insurance’s capabilities, both operationally and technologically.
Jason Schneider, president of McFarlan Rowlands, noted: “Excalibur Insurance is known for their technological expertise and local touch. Their ability to innovate, while remaining uncompromising in their focus on local communities and their clients, is a great asset to our team, and McFarlan Rowlands could not be happier to work with them to elevate the experience of their, and our, clients.”
For Jeff Roy (pictured), president and CEO of Excalibur Insurance, the deal signifies a coming together of entities that are similarly focused on community and customer service.
“By joining with McFarlan and McDougall, we know that we are joining a team that values those same things – and we look forward to sharing our expertise with the broader group and joining their story,” said Roy. “Excalibur Insurance admires McFarlan Rowlands as a dominant regional player in the Western Ontario insurance market – and McDougall Insurance as a growing national force.
“We are excited to work with Jason, Ross McDougall, and their respective McFarlan/McDougall teams to continue to be leaders in our industry.”
CEO Ross McDougall expressed excitement about welcoming Excalibur Insurance and its clients to the growing McDougall Insurance family.
“We’ve always held the Excalibur organization in high regard and know that between them and McFarlan Rowlands, we will be able to deliver unparalleled insurance service for our clients in Western Ontario,” he commented.
McFarlan Rowlands, which was acquired by McDougall Insurance in 2023, has committed to ensuring Excalibur Insurance upholds the high standards of professionalism and customer service it is known for. Excalibur will continue to operate under its existing brand, guided by Roy who is supported by vice presidents Una Roy and Ken Colquhoun.
