The Standard Insurance Brokers has joined BrokerLink, marking the latter’s most significant acquisition in Ontario and its entry into Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

“This is a meaningful partnership for us on many levels, and we’re so pleased to welcome the tremendous talent of the knowledgeable insurance professionals joining our team,” BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio remarked when the major deal, which took effect on June 1, was announced.

“We’re also very excited about introducing BrokerLink to customers in new Northern Ontario communities, and making our debut in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and we are committed to delivering the exceptional customer service that all our customers expect.”

Founded in 1897, The Standard offers home, auto, business, farm, recreational vehicle (RV), life, and group benefits insurance while also being experts in specialized insurance programs catering to tourist resorts, RV campgrounds, aerial crop spraying, and professional liability for architects and engineers.

Over the years, the company has expanded significantly across three provinces and operates offices in Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Winnipeg, Flin Flon, and Creighton.

Gord McCool (pictured), president of The Standard, stated: “We are champions for our customers and passionate about supporting the communities where we live and work. Focusing on our people, customers, and community is paramount to us, and we found that BrokerLink shares these values.

“This partnership marks a new chapter of growth and opportunity, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”

Since its inception in 1991, BrokerLink has aimed to create a network of trusted insurance brokers throughout Canada. Part of Intact Financial Corporation, it has grown into one of the country’s largest property and casualty insurance brokerages, employing 3,700 people in more than 200 branches.
