BrokerLink has announced its first acquisition in British Columbia with the purchase of Schill Insurance Brokers Ltd.
The deal establishes BrokerLink as a national player with over 200 locations coast-to-coast. It follows BrokerLink's expansion into Manitoba and Saskatchewan last year, pursuing its growth strategy.
Based in Surrey, Schill Insurance operates 11 locations across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. With more than 50 years of service, Schill Insurance offers auto and home coverage, with a commercial portfolio specializing in construction, automotive dealers and residential realty.
President Joe D'Annunzio emphasized that many BrokerLink customers across Canada already own property in BC, deeming this move ideal for delivering seamless customer service while maintaining existing relationships.
Schill Insurance will continue operating as usual, with leadership and team members remaining in place.
BrokerLink's acquisition model allows brokerages to maintain their brand while accessing the benefits of a larger organization, including wider market reach, employee development opportunities, and advanced technology.
"Our decision to choose BrokerLink was based on three factors," explained Al Schill, president of Schill Insurance. "Alignment in values and commitment to putting our people first; our desire to build and maintain deep customer relationships built on trust and respect; and an exciting opportunity to have a meaningful impact on growth in BC"
BrokerLink, a subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation, has grown since 1991 as a property and casualty insurance brokerage. The national brokerage, which employs 4,000 people across Canada, states it will continue investing in and contributing to local communities as it expands its presence coast-to-coast.
