Following up their purchase of Basin Insurance, Atlantic Canada’s largest independently owned insurance brokerage announced the purchase of two more offices in the Halifax region.
MacLaren Hebb, located on Windsor Street, Halifax and Faulkner Insurance, located in Musquodoboit Harbour are now a part of Archway Insurance.
“We are thrilled to be adding the MacLaren Hebb and Faulkner offices to Archway Insurance,” says Archway Regional Manager Gina McFetridge. “The Hebb family has been in the insurance business since the 1850s. There is a long-standing history of service and commitment to clients and the local community that is completely in step with our own values.”

According to Archway, each office will remain open in its current location, and all employees, as well as former owner, David Hebb, will be staying on.
“My great-grandfather started a marine insurance business in Lunenburg which got the insurance blood running in our family,” says former MacLaren Hebb/Faulkner owner David Hebb. “With five generations now having worked in insurance, I am glad to be turning control over to another family-run business that will continue our tradition of serving customers as an independently owned, local insurance brokerage.”
The acquisition of MacLaren Hebb and Faulkner brings the total number of Archway locations to 12 – spanning the distance from Yarmouth, N.S. to Miramichi, N.B. Over the past decade, Archway has purchased 17 brokerages across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, quietly amassing a substantial presence and market in the region.
