Manulife has formed a multi-year partnership with Aeroplan, the travel loyalty program of Air Canada.
The “first-of-its-kind” partnership will allow Manulife group benefits members to accumulate Aeroplan points through a newly upgraded digital platform.
Launching this spring, Manulife’s revamped digital platform will integrate health, wellness and benefits into one space. By early summer, eligible group benefits members will be able to earn Aeroplan points through the platform by participating in various health and benefits-related activities.
According to Manulife, these point-accumulating activities include engaging in health and wellness challenges, completing educational courses, and utilizing benefits tips and tools, such as downloading the digital benefit card.
Ashesh Desai (pictured left), head of Manulife Group Benefits, commented on the partnership as he highlighted Aeroplan’s role as a “loyalty partner” for Group Benefits members.
“This announcement is a huge milestone for us on our mission to drive long-term, healthy outcomes for Canadians and help our members get more health from their benefits,” said Desai.
“By partnering with Canada’s premier travel loyalty program and adding Aeroplan points to our digital health technology experience, we're empowering and incentivizing members to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing, helping them live better, healthier lives.”
Mark Nasr (pictured right), president of Aeroplan and executive vice president of marketing and digital of Air Canada, also shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration.
“We're so proud to join together with another Canadian global champion and welcome Manulife as the latest Aeroplan strategic partner,” he said. “Through this innovative offering, we’re combining forces to reward millions of their group benefits members.”
Members eligible for this program will have the option to connect their Aeroplan accounts with their Manulife group benefits digital accounts.
Further details regarding the points system, eligible activities, and specific rewards are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Earlier this month, Manulife announced that it has partnered with the World Economic Forum’s open innovation platform to launch a new social impact program to address the global longevity crisis.
