Beneva has committed an additional $1.5 million to support ongoing efforts in anxiety prevention.

The investment, announced on National Philanthropy Day, will fund various initiatives to improve access to treatment and resources for those affected by anxiety. It will support several organizations, including a collaboration with the Université de Montréal on the Beneva Fund – AI-Guided Digital Exposure Therapy, a research project aimed at developing new treatments for anxiety using artificial intelligence.

“Our work with the Université de Montréal is a major milestone in the offering of innovative mental health solutions,” said Martin Robert, executive vice-president and leader of talent, culture and communication at Beneva.

“Our commitment to the community allows us to build sustainable relationships with local charities. We are proud to contribute to the implementation of solutions to prevent anxiety, one concrete step at a time.”

Beneva also announced funding for the following projects:

  • University of Montreal Hospital Centre Foundation’s palliative care pet therapy program, which will expand service hours for patients and their families.
  • Véro & Louis Foundation’s Anxiety Project, focused on providing tools and training for staff and families at the Véro & Louis Home to address anxiety.
  • York University’s Anxiety Research Fund, which supports research on anxiety and provides psychotherapy access for low-income students.
  • Relief, an organization that offers support to individuals with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, as well as their families.
  • FitSpirit’s Well-being Program, which will provide new resources to help parents assist teenage girls in managing stress and anxiety.

With $25.2 billion in assets, Beneva is a major player in the insurance and financial services industry, employing over 5,500 people. Its head office is located in Quebec City.
