The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has successfully hosted the first sessions for the INNOTECH Claims and Billing Working Groups.
Each of the participating working groups were comprised of subject matter experts across different segments – brokers, insurers, and service providers. To ensure the safety of everyone, the working group sessions were held virtually.
The sessions allowed the participating working groups to identify improvement scenarios in claims and billing processes. In particular, the working groups aimed to develop an electronic notification solution for claims and billing – which allows brokers to make more productive use of technology and automate manual work, a release said.
CSIO said that each group made “tremendous progress” in developing the preliminary work completed by the INNOTECH Advisory Committee, which had previously identified digital solutions to improve claims and billing notifications and the customer experience.
An automated notification solution will give brokers more time to focus on developing client relationships with less time spent contacting insurer partners to obtain billing and claims information.
“As a broker, it’s great to have the opportunity to provide our input in the early stages and work collaboratively with insurers and service providers to deliver a digital solution that will allow us to work more efficiently and effectively to improve the customer experience,” commented HUB International Ontario Limited operations manager Mia Dorsey.
CSIO said in a release that the groups will have additional meetings to finish defining business requirements for the solution. The requirements will be costed and assessed to develop a business case to present to the INNOTECH Steering Committee.
