A unit of Canada's Fairfax Financial Holdings has announced the appointment of a leader for its new cyber and technology team.
Brit Global Specialty USA has named Michael Carr senior vice president as leader for the new division. He will be based in Chicago and will begin writing business in April.

Previously, Carr was the technology practice leader for
Argo Group. He has three decades of experience in the insurance industry, having spent the last 14 years on underwriting cyber and technology business.

Carr is also a founding co-chair of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society’s Cyber Symposium.
According to a release, the cyber team – based in the US – will complement its current London-based platform to address the need for cyber and technology products in the small-to-midsize business sector in the US.
