Sayce, who will be based in London, will report to AGCS global head of financial lines Shanil Williams. In his new role as global head of cyber, he will steer AGCS’s cyber underwriting business and will also lead Allianz Group’s Cyber Centre of Competence. Sayce succeeds Dr. Catharina Richter, the current global head of Cyber Centre of Competence for AGCS and Allianz Group, who will transition into a new role within the Allianz Group which will be announced later.
With over 20 years of experience, Sayce joins AGCS from AXA, where he held a number of senior leadership roles of increasing responsibility since 2017. He initially started at AXA as a global chief underwriting officer, cyber within the company’s corporate solutions division, while also serving as group chief underwriting officer for cyber. He then became group head of cyber in 2018, and later group head of financial lines and cyber.
Prior to AXA, Sayce was the head of cyber, technology, and life science divisions at CNA Hardy. He began his insurance career as a Lloyd’s insurance broker before transitioning to underwriting to focus on cyber and tech risks.
