Wilson M. Beck Insurance Services (WMB) has expanded with the opening of a new office in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Edmonton office is WMB’s first office in the city, and according to the company, the opening signals its “further growth and expansion” across Canada.
To head the new location, WMB has tapped Don Barr to serve as president at the Edmonton office. Barr has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry, with some expertise in the construction sector.
“Knowing WMB’s reputation in the industry over the years, I knew it was an organization I wanted to be part of,” said Barr. “I am a construction expert by trade, and I am a past president of the Edmonton Construction Association. WMB has a strong focus on construction, so it makes for a great fit.”
WMB also said that while construction remains the broker’s area of expertise, it will not be the only line of insurance that the Edmonton office will support. The new team will be able to write all lines of insurance and support all sectors.
“The goal is to build a strong team and provide exceptional service to our clients,” added Barr.
“We’re very happy to welcome Don to the WMB family and to continue our expansion across Canada,” said WMB president David Beck.
