Property and casualty insurance broker PLATFORM Insurance Management has opened a new office in Calgary, marking a key milestone in the company’s growth plan that is focused on offering localized expertise and customized solutions to clients across the country.
Fraser de Walle (pictured above with the team), an industry expert with significant experience in construction, will oversee PLATFORM’s operations throughout Alberta in his capacity as managing director. He is joined by senior vice presidents Stephanie Kuntz, Colin Hasick, and Mitchell Taylor, based in Edmonton, who bring a wealth of construction risk know-how from their previous positions.
In addition, specialists Deanna Walker and Barbara Murphy will join as senior account managers, further strengthening PLATFORM’s presence in the province. Known for their strong reputations in the construction risk sector, the duo will serve clients both in Alberta and across Canada.
PLATFORM said the expansion underscores its commitment to providing personalized and locally-informed insurance solutions. The Alberta team will concentrate on meeting the unique needs of the construction and development sectors, utilizing their in-depth knowledge of the local market.
“We are thrilled to bring PLATFORM's renowned expertise and client-focused approach to Calgary,” commented de Walle. “Our team is dedicated to delivering customized insurance solutions that address the specific challenges and opportunities of the Alberta market.”
The office launch comes on the heels of PLATFORM’s unveiling of a newly formed captive insurance and alternative risk financing practice group.
“This will allow PLATFORM to more effectively compete for big-box clients as we can now offer them a full suite of services that are offered by our competitors,” practice leader Braedy Walker recently told Insurance Business.
“We strive to be the best at the areas we specialize in, and the creation of this practice puts us firmly in the conversation to offer best-in-class service for clients with already existing captives or those clients looking to create their own captive.”
