HUB International has tapped Marc Chouinard to serve as national agribusiness specialty practice leader for Canada. In his new role, Chouinard will lead strategic efforts across the agribusiness, food, and forestry sectors.

Chouinard’s journey with HUB began in 2017 when he joined the company’s forestry specialties division. With 29 years of industry experience, particularly in forest products and complex risks, his extensive background includes roles in risk management, underwriting, and leadership positions at both insurance carriers and brokerages.

His new responsibilities include shaping strategies aimed at delivering top-tier services and managing the placement of large and complex risks. He will also work on initiatives that involve cross-border opportunities between Canada and the US, contributing to the broader success of HUB’s agribusiness specialty practice.

“With his experience in the agribusiness, food, and forestry industries, Marc truly understands the market and will be a valuable resource for our team, both domestically and with US-Canada cross-border opportunities,” said Josh Smart, HUB’s agribusiness & food practice leader and chief sales officer.

“His unique skillset will help improve the client experience, continue to build long-term business relationships, and, as a result, take our agribusiness specialty practice to the next level.”

The internal move comes on the heels of HUB’s swoop for Felton et Associes Assurances Inc. Under the deal, Felton et Associes president Maxime Felton and his team will integrate with HUB Quebec. Earlier this year, HUB acquired 2837932 Ontario Inc. and certain assets from 2197747 Alberta Ltd.
