CNA Canada has announced a change to its leadership roster, appointing Dean Grigoruk (pictured above) to the role of vice president, commercial mid-market and Eastern Region.
Grigoruk’s appointment will see him assume the mantle for shaping underwriting strategy for commercial mid-market in Canada. At the same time, he will retain his current responsibilities as regional vice president, Eastern Region, automobile and international.
According to a news release, Grigoruk’s engagement will continue at the regional level, reporting to Nick Creatura, president and chief executive officer. Simultaneously, within the underwriting practice, he will report to David Price, senior vice president and chief underwriting officer at CNA Canada.
“Dean demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, possessing refined skills in both technical expertise and people development,” said Price. “We are excited about his expanded oversight in commercial mid-market.”
“This broader responsibility will encourage improved collaboration and strategically align us to achieve our organizational goals,” added Creatura. “I am excited for Dean’s expanded leadership as we work towards fostering sustained growth.”
Grigoruk has three decades of experience within the industry. He began his career in personal lines and later branched into roles encompassing casualty, property, marine, business development.
Over the years, Grigoruk has held a number of regional and national leadership positions. His association with CNA Canada began in 2001 within the commercial mid-market segment, where he steadily ascended through roles of escalating responsibility. This culminated in his recent tenure as regional vice president.
In October, CNA VPs spoke with Insurance Business regarding the company’s expanded capabilities within the middle market space. These new offerings include risk managed casualty, engineered property, and specialty lines.
“Middle market is CNA’s largest segment in Canada; we always look to ensure that we’re staying at the forefront of the market in that space,” said Terri Mason-Benjamin, CNA Canada’s vice president, marketing & distribution. “That’s something that we’re looking at currently.”
