For Canada’s insurance sector, claims handling continues to be a defining element of policyholder experience – and now the best in the business have been found.
In its annual review of claims services, Insurance Business Canada (IBC) conducted a structured broker survey to determine which insurers are setting benchmarks for service delivery in 2025.
The survey gathered evaluations from brokers across the country who had claims interactions with insurers over the previous year.
Brokers were asked to assess insurers based on key dimensions such as responsiveness, expertise, procedural clarity, and communication.
The input was weighted to reflect the priorities most important to the broker channel, resulting in a set of rankings that highlighted consistent claims service performers.
The insurers achieving top scores were designated as 5-Star Claims awardees for 2025. These designations reflect how well these companies have navigated current service challenges while maintaining efficient claims operations.
