Hub International has promoted Evan Stait (pictured) to the role of Canada cannabis specialty leader.
In his new role, Stait will serve a critical role in advancing Hub’s presence in the cannabis industry. He will focus on enhancing cannabis insurance solutions and risk services, further developing resources for the company’s clients. Stait will work alongside Hub North America chief sales officer of cannabis specialty Jay Virdi.
“Evan is a top producer and retail insurance advisor,” commented Virdi. “With his depth of expertise and experience, Evan’s appointment further strengthens our industry-leading Cannabis specialty practice group.”
Having started his insurance career in 2012, Stait first joined Hub in 2014. He specializes in emerging and complex risk sectors, such as cannabis manufacturing and cross-border solutions. A release noted that he led his team to develop some of the first outdoor crop insurance solutions for both cannabis and hemp.
Stait has also published several articles on cannabis insurance risks and has been featured on industry podcasts. He received his master’s degree from the University of Alberta and has the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation.
