Xceedance has appointed Subramanian Sankaran as global chief operating officer as the company seeks to strengthen its operational structure while expanding its global footprint.

The appointment is part of a broader strategy to align delivery operations with long-term growth objectives.

Sankaran has more than 30 years of experience in global operations and transformation roles across several industries, including insurance, healthcare, finance, procurement, and human resources. He has held senior positions at Wipro, Accenture, GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, WNS, GE Capital, and Pfizer, managing global teams and client portfolios in various market conditions.

Announcing the appointment, CEO Arun Balakrishnan said Sankaran’s background in the insurance sector and operational leadership would support the company’s cross-functional integration efforts. He noted that with Xceedance operating across multiple geographies and business lines, maintaining consistency and execution alignment is essential.

In addition to this leadership change, Xceedance has recently taken several steps to expand its service offerings and technology capabilities. In February 2025, the company acquired CIS Claim Services, a US-based firm specialising in property and casualty claims management. The acquisition added more than 150 staff members and a network of field adjusters, broadening Xceedance’s capacity in areas such as litigated claims and alternative dispute resolution.

In March, Xceedance made a strategic investment in Friendly, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company focused on life and health underwriting, claims processing, and risk assessment. The company said the investment is intended to support clients in the life, health, and reinsurance sectors by applying AI to evolving market demands.

Earlier in January, Xceedance also announced a partnership with mea Platform to develop generative AI applications for insurance workflows. The collaboration is aimed at improving operational efficiency in underwriting and claims through scalable technology solutions.

These initiatives reflect the company’s continued focus on operational expansion and the adoption of emerging technologies to meet evolving industry requirements.
