WTW has appointed Simon Castonguay as the new corporate risk and broking market leader for Montreal.
Castonguay assumes his new role over five years with WTW. He will be supervising the Montreal market’s overall business strategy and client service, while becoming part of the Canadian corporate risk and broking leadership team.
“We’re delighted to appoint Simon to this leadership position,” said Erin Magilton, Canada leader for corporate risk & broking. “Simon brings truly diverse industry knowledge, and a passion for identifying emerging risks, technology and innovative analytic solutions in ways that bring stakeholders together to accelerate corporate risk strategy.”
Castonguay’s professional experience includes advising North American clients from the financial, telecommunications, infrastructure, retail, and public sectors. He first joined WTW in 2017 and served as a consultant to a handful of the company’s largest Montreal clients, with expertise in risk governance optimization and financing, and retention and transfer strategies. He previously managed the risk analytics teams at the global accounting firm KPMG.
Castonguay also holds the Forensic Accountant in Canada (CA•IFA) designation, along with being a member of the Ordre des Comptables Professionnels Agréés du Québec (CPA, CA) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (CISA). Additionally, he serves as the treasurer of the business association Montréal Centre-Ville and Réseau Action TI, an association which gathers 2,000 professionals in technology and analytics.
WTW recently appointed Andy Blasher as global client advocate for its corporate risk and broking business. It also brought in Helen DiVitio as Canada’s global client advocate last September.
