Westland Insurance has announced the acquisition of two Ontario-based brokerages, MYCOR Insurance Solutions Inc. and Murphy Insurance Services Inc.
Headquartered in Toronto, MYCOR Insurance Solutions is a full-service property & casualty (P&C) brokerage with seven locations spread across Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. It provides insurance and risk management solutions tailored to the commercial marketplace, with a niche in several commercial specialty programs.
Murphy Insurance Services has been serving the Simcoe and Muskoka areas in Ontario since 1981. The boutique P&C insurance brokerage specializes in advisory-based solutions for several key commercial segments, as well as VIP personal lines.
“It’s with much excitement that I welcome MYCOR Insurance and Murphy Insurance to Westland,” said Jamie Lyons, Westland president and CEO.
“Both brokerages have tremendous leadership, entrepreneurial cultures, and offer unique value to their clients. The opportunity to better serve Canadians through dedicated, client-first brokerages like these is what drives us to continue expanding from coast to coast.”
Effective June 1, Westland’s latest acquisitions are part of its ongoing nationwide expansion.
Last month, the company also acquired Ontario-based First Durham Insurance & Financial Ltd, one of the oldest and largest full-service independent brokerages in the region.
This followed a triple acquisition in April, which expanded its P&C insurance practices across Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta.
Other recent acquisitions include Niche Assurance in Quebec and Heritage Insurance in Saskatchewan, as well as RiskTech Insurance Services in Alberta.
Westland is continuing to invest in and grow its business in Canada, a press release stated, both organically and through strategic deals.
