There’s nothing as quintessentially Western Canadian as a chuckwagon race, so it’s not surprising that an Alberta-based insurer is entrusted with providing coverage for race participants.
Western Financial Group, which has insured the World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) circuit for the past three seasons, has announced a two-year extension of its strategic partnership with the WPCA. Leaders of Western Financial and the WPCA made the announcement in the Alberta town of High River, the site of Western’s headquarters and a WPCA Pro Tour stop closely associated with the man who started the races – legendary cowboy and promoter Guy Weadick.
“We continue to build this strong relationship,” said Rod Cunniam, head of digital and brand at Western Financial. “We share our values with the WPCA, including a focus on community and families and pride in our western Canadian roots.”
“When our drivers get on racetracks in communities across western Canada, we have always been able to count on Western’s people and their tradition of caring for customers,” said Bryan Hebson, marketing director at WPCA.
Canadians and visitors alike can experience thunderous chuckwagon action at upcoming races in Alberta (Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat, High River, Ponoka, Calgary, Strathmore, Rocky Mountain House and the Century Downs World Finals), Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), and British Columbia (Dawson Creek) in 2019.
