The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) has announced that the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company will continue to support its Broker Identity Program (BIP) at the “full partner” level.
Wawanesa’s sponsorship backs BIP, which is a national campaign designed to highlight the essential services insurance brokers provide, including choice, advice, and advocacy for their clients.
Additionally, Wawanesa’s contribution will bolster various IBAC initiatives. These include the association’s technology leadership, the professional development of the broker workforce, and robust federal advocacy efforts to keep banking and insurance separate.
Graham Haigh (pictured), senior vice president and chief operations officer for the West at Wawanesa, stated: “Wawanesa is committed to being a thoughtful, dependable partner for brokers.
“Be it our investment in dedicated underwriters to help brokers when they need it, our work to advance connectivity by making all our APIs available to the entire industry, or our continued commitment to IBAC and the Broker Identity Program, we want brokers to know we value their expertise and commitment to great service.”
Peter Braid, chief executive of IBAC, described Wawanesa as a valued partner and a staunch supporter of the broker channel.
“Their renewed sponsorship reflects their strong belief in insurance brokers and their recognition of the value brokers provide to their clients,” Braid said.
“Wawanesa is also a strong advocate for broker connectivity, and we greatly appreciate their leadership and contributions to advancing technology solutions that will significantly enhance the insurance experience for consumers, brokers, and carriers alike.”
Other BIP full partners include Wynward Insurance Group, Intact Insurance Company, Unica Insurance, HSB Canada, Portage Mutual, Red River Mutual, and Economical Insurance.
When Wynward’s renewal of support was announced recently, Braid commented: “We greatly appreciate their strong vote of confidence in IBAC’s programs and initiatives, and their recognition of the enduring benefits of the advice and support that brokers provide.”
