Vienneau Insurance has expanded its presence in southeastern New Brunswick with its acquisition of Coast Insurance.
Based in Moncton, Coast Insurance has been serving the area since 1965. Julie and Aaron Hilt purchased the brokerage from Julie’s stepfather, Frank Chandler, back in 2016.
Following the acquisition, Julie Hilt will remain with the brokerage in a managerial role to assist in the transition process.
“The fit was right, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming a great local business into the fold,” commented Vinneau Insurance president Marc Leger. “Julie, Aaron and I have come up in the insurance industry around the same time, just like my father and Julie’s step-dad came up together before us.”
“For us, they checked off all the boxes,” said Julie Hilt. “They’re owned locally and are known for taking care of their clients and employees.”
The timing was right for the acquisition move, added Aaron Hilt, who also noted that it was becoming an increasing competitive market for Coast Insurance – the acquisition by Vienneau brings some additional size and resources that ultimately benefits Coast Insurance’s clients, Hilt said.
The full service, family-owned Vienneau Insurance has been in business since 1948. It is considered one of the largest, locally-owned independent insurance brokerages in southeastern New Brunswick, with 62 employees spread across offices in Moncton, Dieppe, Shediac, Bouctouche, and Saint-Antoine.
