TruShield Insurance launches small business advertising contest – with a unique prize

TruShield Insurance has launched a contest for small businesses in Ontario, offering businessowners a chance to promote their enterprises in a Toronto Raptors game.

In the contest, one small business will be selected to become the Toronto Raptors’ “partner for a game.” The winner will receive an advertising package that includes courtside signage during a 2022-23 Raptors regular season game, as well as digital promotion on the Raptors’ website and social media channels.

Ontario businesses interested in participating must explain what winning the contest would do for their business; they must then submit their stories through the Raptors’ app or website before April 11, 2022.

This is the insurer’s second year to partner with the NBA team; TruShield and the Raptors first held the contest in 2021.

"TruShield Insurance is excited to be giving back to Ontario entrepreneurs in our second year partnering with the Toronto Raptors," said TruShield Insurance vice president Craig Hopkinson. "The small business community has faced a challenging couple of years, but through this contest, TruShield will give a small business owner the chance to reach thousands of Canadians."

Last year’s contest winner was Dumpling’s Treats – a seller of premium dog treats.

"It propelled my business years ahead and gave us the opportunity to talk to more dog parents looking for healthy treats for their fur babies that are not only nutritious, but made from human-grade ingredients from local stores known for their quality," said Dumpling’s Treats owner Susan Lee-MacDonald.

"Discovering new products or services created by local entrepreneurs and sharing it with our fans is an exciting aspect of this partnership," commented MLSE senior vice president of global partnerships Jordan Vader. "We're thrilled to continue working with TruShield again this year to help showcase a small business and what they can uniquely provide to our passionate fanbase and their potential new customers."
