Totten Insurance Group had recently announced that it had appointed Denis Dei Cont as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
As executive vice president and COO, Dei Cont will divide his responsibilities between the company’s Oakville and Toronto offices. Dei Cont’s role involves “enhancing broker relationships, developing new products and fostering a culture of professionalism.” He is also tasked with leading the National Specialty division, as well as the Ontario region.
“Denis has a reputation for steady leadership and an innovative approach to underwriting challenges,” remarked Totten president and CEO Susan Murphy. “His expertise and business acumen will impress our brokers.”
“At this point in my career, I’m looking to leverage all that I’ve learned and make a difference,” Dei Cont said in a statement regarding his appointment. “MGAs are an integral part of the insurance market. The more complex underwriting becomes, the better for Totten. With our people, technology plans and focus on sustainable growth, I’m in the right place.”
Dei Cont is originally from Winnipeg, a graduate of the University of Winnipeg, with a BA in Economics. He started his insurance career in his hometown, and then moved to Toronto under a mid-sized insurer.
