StoneRidge Insurance Brokers (SIB) has expanded its footprint in Manitoba through a partnership with Winnipeg-based Donbar Agency Limited, operating as Crossroads Insurance. This agreement strengthens SIB’s foothold in the region as it continues to grow its national network.
Crossroads Insurance, a full-service brokerage with two Winnipeg locations, has been serving clients since 1972. President T.J. McRedmond stated that the partnership would allow the brokerage to enhance its service offerings while maintaining its commitment to local clients.
“We are a family-run brokerage that has been serving Winnipeg and the surrounding area for over 50 years,” McRedmond said. “We are excited to now be a part of SIB. This new partnership will allow us to maintain the same level of service, as well as allow us to provide service from a greater range of markets and increased capabilities in commercial lines to provide complete solutions for all our customers.”
McRedmond added that the agreement allows Crossroads to preserve its independence while leveraging the resources of a larger organization.
SIB CEO and president Ted Puccini described the partnership as a significant development for the company’s growth in 2024.
“Crossroads is an impressive business, and we appreciate T.J.’s faith in us as new partners in the business,” Puccini said. “This partnership represents another milestone in 2024, a transformational year for SIB as we continue to demonstrate our strong focus on growing across Canada as a national broker.”
SIB operates more than 140 offices across Canada, handling over $1 billion in gross written premiums. The news release noted that this is the company’s seventh acquisition of the year, as it seeks to strengthen its presence in key markets.
The company’s expansion strategy is led by its corporate development and finance teams, with plans to maintain this momentum into 2025. SIB continues to explore opportunities for further acquisitions and partnerships across Canada.
