SSQ Insurance has announced a new senior vice-president of distribution.
Geneviève Fortier assumes her new role with the company effective April 19, 2018.
“Geneviève will occupy a prominent role at SSQ Insurance, in charge of sales and distribution of our insurance and investment solutions. Her extensive experience and her well-known leadership will undeniably serve as assets in the pursuit of our business growth across the country. Her clear vision of the challenges, results-oriented approach and management skill set will provide a springboard for our strategic ambitions,” said SSQ Insurance CEO Jean-François Chalifoux.
Fortier most recently held the position of senior vice-president at McKesson Canada. She also held a number of senior management positions at Reitmans Canada, Merck Frosst Canada and Biochem Pharma.
She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Université Laval. Fortier is a Fellow of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agrees and is the chair of the board of directors of the CHUM and CHU Ste-Justine. She also sits on the boards of directors of Sanimax and Fillactive.
