SGI CANADA, including its subsidiary Coachman Insurance, will continue its commitment as a full partner in the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada’s (IBAC) Broker Identity Program (BIP) for 2024.
SGI CANADA’s sponsorship helps fuel BIP, a campaign designed to elevate public awareness around the unique value – choice, advice, and advocacy – that insurance brokers bring to their clients.
The sustained backing will also assist in advancing IBAC’s technology initiatives, fostering workforce professional development, and funding federal advocacy to preserve the separation of banking and insurance.
“It’s a privilege to continue supporting IBAC and the great work they do on behalf of brokers,” stated Andrew Voroney (pictured), executive vice president and chief operating officer at SGI CANADA. “Brokers are the face of our industry and the key points of guidance and advice.
“National advocacy ensures the role of the broker is front of mind in this rapidly evolving space.”
IBAC chief executive Peter Braid also acknowledged SGI CANADA’s continued partnership, commenting: “SGI CANADA is a valued IBAC partner and a strong supporter of the broker channel.
“This investment underscores the important role of brokers in the insurance marketplace and highlights the essential broker benefit of providing expert advice and assisting consumers with their insurance needs.”
Other full backers of the BIP campaign include Allstate Canada subsidiary Pembridge Insurance Company, Gore Mutual Insurance Company, Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company, The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group, and Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company.
Also listed as full partners are Wynward Insurance Group, Intact Insurance Company, Unica Insurance, HSB Canada, Portage Mutual, Red River Mutual, Economical Insurance, Travelers Canada, and Sandbox Mutual Insurance.
