RSA Canada will strengthen its partnership with the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) Ontario by offering more training sessions to students.
RSA Canada, which has been sponsoring SSE programs since 2014, has announced that its employees will hold new training sessions on various topics to social entrepreneurs such as social media, human resources and accounting.
“This collaboration is rooted in our heritage as a business founded to meet a social need, providing protection to people and businesses,” said Mark Edgar, RSA Canada’s senior vice president of human resources.
“Working with the School for Social Entrepreneurs offers us not only a great opportunity to support community leaders who are reducing risks associated with social inequality and environmental stress, but also an opportunity to develop insights into the needs of small businesses and the fast growing social enterprise industry.”
RSA Canada has given SSE both financial and in-kind support including mentorship, subject matter expertise, office equipment, and space for school program events.
The company is helping the school as a way to support its client communities to develop more social entrepreneurs.
Employees of RSA Canada act as year-long mentors for students and serve as coaches at student pitching events. The company also holds an insurance training session for social entrepreneurs and IT support sessions for SSE’s back-office staff.
