Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Gallagher has joined forces with RSA Canada to expand on the latter’s road safety campaign.
TruceTO is RSA Canada’s road safety movement which focuses on encouraging empathy among drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. The campaign recognizes that infrastructure change is necessary to address the long-term issue of road safety, but driver/pedestrian/cyclist education can introduce needed short- and medium-term changes on the streets.
RSA Canada’s partnership with Gallagher over TruceTO will produce consumer research, road safety education and community outreach throughout the year. The initiatives will launch first in the Greater Toronto Area, a release said.
“Our research has shown that fear and misconception are ongoing trends among road users. More education is needed to ensure that drivers, cyclists and pedestrians understand each other better,” said RSA Canada senior vice-president of personal insurance and road safety advocate Donna Ince. “Gallagher is the perfect partner to help us continue to spread road safety knowledge to Canadians across the GTA and beyond.”
“Our personal insurance brokers see the implications of road collisions every day when talking to customers, processing claims and renewing policies,” commented Gallagher Ontario personal insurance president Bob Manson. “This partnership will enable them to share relevant stats, resources and tips at key milestones in a customer’s auto insurance journey, and encourage them to practice safe road behaviours.”
