Sandbox Mutual Insurance has announced the appointment of Rob Jones as its next president and chief executive officer, effective December 17, 2024.

Jones, who has been with the company since 2020 as senior vice-president of growth and customer experience, will succeed Shelley Willick, who is retiring after serving as CEO since 2019.

Jones brings extensive leadership experience, with a background in financial services and technology. Before joining Sandbox Mutual Insurance, he served as chief information officer at Prairie Centre Credit Union.

Jones spearheaded initiatives including the company’s rebrand and the planning and construction of a new headquarters. He has also led efforts to enhance technology and streamline processes to improve customer experience.

“The board of directors are delighted to welcome Rob into the role of president & CEO,” said Migneault. “Rob has been a key advocate in Sandbox’s growth over the past handful of years.”

Jones expressed his appreciation for the appointment, stating his commitment to leading the team as the company continues to grow. He noted his focus on maintaining the organization’s goal of providing a straightforward insurance experience for policyholders and brokers.

“I am honoured to take on the role of President & CEO with Sandbox,” said Jones. “We have a team of dedicated and passionate people at Sandbox that I look forward to leading as we continue the organization’s journey of growth.”

Migneault expressed confidence in Jones’ leadership as the company continues its growth strategy, stating the board’s eagerness to collaborate with him in his new role.

Sandbox Mutual Insurance provides home, auto, commercial, and farm insurance to policyholders through brokers in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
