Revealed – Insurance firms recognized in HR Awards Canada

Insurance Business sister publication HRD (Human Resources Director) has announced this year’s HR Awards excellence awardees in Canada.

In the Canadian HR Team of the Year (finance/insurance) category, 10 companies made the cut, including top names in the insurance industry: AIMCo, CIBC Mellon, CWB Financial Group, Financeit, Investment Management Corporation of Ontario, Symcor, The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia, University Pension Plan Ontario, Wawanesa Insurance, and Westland Insurance Group.

The awards span more than 20 categories:

• Canadian HR Team of the Year (500 Employees or More)
• Canadian HR Team of the Year (Fewer Than 500 Employees)
• Canadian HR Team of the Year (Finance/Insurance)
• Canadian HR Team of the Year (Retail/Hospitality)
• Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion
• Excellence in Financial, Physical & Mental Wellness
• Most Effective Recruitment Strategy
• The Achievers Award for Best Reward & Recognition Strategy
• The ADP Canada Award for HR Rising Star of the Year
• The dentsu Canada Award for Most Innovative Use of HR Technology
• The O.C. Tanner Award for Lifetime Achievement in the HR Industry
• The Payworks Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy
• The Queen’s University IRC Award for Best Learning & Development Strategy
• The University of Waterloo Award for Next Generation Employment Innovation
• Woman of Distinction

Wawanesa Insurance and Westland Insurance were also named excellence awardees under other categories – The Achievers Award for Best Reward & Recognition Strategy for Wawanesa and Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion for Westland. Definity Insurance is an excellence awardee under the Best Workplace Culture category. Sun Life is an excellence awardee under Best Talent Management Strategy.

HR Awards Canada will take place on September 18 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
