We all make mistakes and, in the case of one prospective policyholder in the US – well, let’s just say there were photographs to prove it.
Alyssa Stringfellow wanted to get motor insurance, but the application process had been met with confusion when the insurer asked for information and photos. She thought the provider needed photos of her for identification, and sent the contact exactly that instead of images of the car.

So in addition to her driver’s license number and date of birth, the motorist emailed three – frontal shot plus left and right profile – photos of herself. The response? According to Stringfellow, the contact got back to her, saying: “I am going to need pictures like you just took, except it needs to be of your vehicle. :)” Yes, emoticon included.
Deciding to share her “pretty embarrassing” mistake, the 25-year-old teacher posted the photos and accompanying anecdote on
Facebook. Since being published a week ago, the good-natured post now has more than 8,000 likes and over 9,000 comments, as well as 21,000 shares.
“The crazy thing is, I asked my mom to take the pictures after I got off work, and we discussed why in the world he would need pictures of me, never once considering it was supposed to be of my car,” read part of Stringfellow’s post.
