PLUS Underwriting Managers has announced its rebrand as Forward Insurance Managers (Forward).
The new branding comes about half a year after PLUS was acquired by industry veteran Troy Moreira through Mar Nova Holdings, his investment holding company.
“Forward Insurance Managers is an insurtech MGA,” said FIM CEO Moreira. “Our vision for Forward is ‘People PLUS Technology,’ in that order.”
The chief executive also mentioned that the company will offer a “technologically advanced consumer experience in parallel with a traditional personalized service,” wherein underwriters are available by phone, approachable, and always ready to provide solutions.
Moreira added that he has assembled an “excellent” team of people over the last four months, both in BC and in Ontario.
“Over the last several months we have been very busy building a new product suite,” he explains, “which includes marine, personal lines, professional liability, construction, and various specialty commercial lines products. Thanks to 25 years experience in the specialty arena in Canada, and support from our international insurer contacts, the product suite has come together very quickly.”
Moreira also mentioned that Forward has a new self-serve platform called JET, which makes its entire product suite available 24/7.
Moreira is the former CEO of the Premier Group of Companies and the co-founder and principal owner of Premier Marine Insurance Managers Group USA and Premier Canada Assurance. He is perhaps best known for the specialty insurance education seminars he has facilitated for Canadian brokerages from 2004 to 2019.
