No pressure, but Jeffrey Ryan (pictured) certainly has a lot of responsibility awaiting him as he takes the role of head of financial risks at PartnerRe.
Ryan took the position at the turn of the month and will now have the small task of heading up leadership for the worldwide financial risks team and portfolio. He will report into CEO of specialty lines Greg Haft, and be based in the Stamford, Connecticut office.
The new head can call on plenty of experience to help him shoulder that responsibility, however. He has spent the majority of a 30-year career in credit & bond, mortgage and other financial risks underwriting and has held leadership roles at the likes of Axis Re.
“I am pleased to have an individual of Jeff’s calibre join the PartnerRe team. He has a strong background in surety and mortgage and is well respected by clients around the globe,” said Haft. “Our financial risks team has built a strong portfolio over the past and, under Jeff’s leadership, will work to ensure that we are well positioned to navigate the changing economic environment.”
